The San Francisco 49ers open their 2015 NFL campaign with a prime-time matchup against the visiting Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night Football.
Monday's contest is the first regular-season tilt for new head coach Jim Tomsula as he guides a team that underwent one of the most turbulent offseasons in recent memory. The best way for the 49ers to showcase their abilities to the football world will be to come away with a win versus Minnesota.
The Vikings are led by running back Adrian Peterson, who missed nearly the entirety of 2014. Frequently matching up against him will be San Francisco linebacker NaVorro Bowman, who also missed last year.
This duel, among others, will be at the heart of the story when these two teams square off at 10:20 p.m. ET on ESPN.
