When the Philadelphia Eagles acquired Sam Bradford, they knew the risk they were taking regarding the veteran quarterback's injury history. The quarterback has reportedly suffered his first setback, after spraining his ankle on Monday night against the Atlanta Falcons, per Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News (via Eliot Shorr-Parks of NJ Advance Media).

Bradford Comments on Ankle Injury
Tuesday, Sept. 15
Bradford said he was "perfectly fine" after undergoing X-rays on his injured ankle, according to Shorr-Parks.
While Bradford has shown promise on the field in previous years, he has never been able to consistently remain healthy. Only twice in five seasons has he played a full 16 games. Bradford missed six games in 2011 and nine games in 2013. Then, he tore his ACL in last year's preseason, wiping out his entire 2014 campaign.
The timing of this injury couldn't be much worse for Bradford. He's set to become a free agent at the end of the season, and he's not going to draw a ton of interest if teams cannot convince themselves he can stay on the field.
For the Eagles, if Bradford's ankle injury is serious, it's simply a matter of calling the next man up. Philadelphia made sure to have plenty of depth at quarterback, re-signing Mark Sanchez in the offseason.
You know exactly what you're getting with Sanchez, and he played well for stretches in 2014, throwing for 2,418 yards, 14 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in nine games.
Sanchez isn't a perfect replacement for Bradford, but he should keep Philadelphia on pace to contend for the playoffs in 2015 if he is needed.
