Houston Rockets rookie Montrezl Harrell took part in plenty of on-court heroics during his time at the University of Louisville, but the promising forward's quick thinking may have helped save a life off the court Monday night.
According to Jeff Greer of the Courier-Journal, the 21-year-old second-round pick was among those who pulled a motorist out of a smoking, overturned vehicle near the Louisville campus.
Per Louisville Senior Associate Athletic Director Kenny Klein, Harrell kicked in one of the vehicle's windows and retrieved a fire extinguisher from a nearby business during the rescue.
Harrell was already a huge fan favorite among Cardinals supporters as he put up 15.7 points and 9.2 rebounds per game last season, and he helped Louisville win the national title in 2013.
After selflessly putting himself in harm's way to help a person in distress, Harrell's legend at Louisville will only continue to grow, and he has likely endeared himself to Rockets fans already.
