Marshawn Lynch's mother is not happy with Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell.
Delisa Lynch took to Facebook to absolutely rip Bevell on Monday, a day after the St. Louis Rams beat the Seahawks in overtime, 34-31, stuffing Beast Mode on a 4th-and-1 run to seal the win.
Mama Beast Mode wasn't pleased, calling Bevell “the worst play-caller ever” and claiming he should have been fired after quarterback Russell Wilson's costly interception at the end of last year's Super Bowl loss to the New England Patriots, per Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times.
Indeed, many folks were confounded that Lynch wasn't handed the ball in that situation.
Lynch's mother then claimed Bevell only called the running play that didn't succeed on Sunday to justify not giving Lynch the ball late in the Super Bowl. She finished the rant by noting the Seahawks staff loves Bevell more than it loves winning.
This isn't the sort of harmonious start to the season the Seahawks were looking for. Defensive star Kam Chancellor continues to hold out, and now, a family member of a key player is speaking out against the coaching staff.
While Delisa Lynch's claims are a bit ridiculous—Bevell has proved to be a solid offensive coordinator in his time with Seattle, and it's hard to imagine what occurred at the Super Bowl had anything to do with his approach to Sunday's game—this is an unneeded distraction for the team. What would be even more concerning for the Seahawks is if Lynch's mother is simply repeating the star's own feelings on the matter.
The NFC West is a tough division; if all facets of Seattle's organization aren't on the same page, 2015 could be a humbling experience for the team.
