PSV Eindhoven defender Hector Moreno might be public enemy No. 1 among Manchester United fans right now, but he knows the pain of a leg break all too well.
The Mexican defender’s tackle on Luke Shaw led to the full-back being carried off on a stretcher with a double fracture in his right leg, per ESPN, and the England international will now begin his long rehabilitation process.
That’s something Moreno has been through himself after fracturing the tibia in his left leg in a challenge with Arjen Robben during the 2-1 defeat to the Netherlands at the 2014 World Cup, per Daily Mail.
It makes his Twitter apology all the more poignant, and nobody will be hoping Shaw makes a full recovery more than Moreno himself.
After finding such good form at the start of the current season, both Louis van Gaal and Roy Hodgson will be hoping the former Southampton youngster comes back better than ever.
