Running back Ahmad Bradshaw has eight years of NFL experience and 4,843 rushing yards on his resume, but he is a free agent in the early going of the 2015 campaign. That may change as injuries and roster moves develop while the season progresses.

Colts Reportedly Interested in Bringing Bradshaw Back
Tuesday, Sept. 15
Bradshaw played for the Indianapolis Colts in 2013 and 2014, so there is a level of familiarity already in place. It is no surprise, then, that the team could turn his way as it attempts to add depth to the running back position, per Stephen Holder of the Indianapolis Star:
Bradshaw appeared in 13 games the past two years for the Colts and tallied 611 rushing yards and four touchdown runs. While the running totals don’t necessarily stand out, he did catch six touchdowns for the Colts in 2014 and added 300 receiving yards as a consistent threat in the passing attack.
Bradshaw is also not that far removed from a 2012 season with the New York Giants that saw him tally 1,015 rushing yards, 245 receiving yards and six touchdowns.
The veteran has been in the league eight seasons and has two Super Bowl rings, so he would likely fit into any backup role. He also understands the Colts offense and would fill a need behind Frank Gore.
Gore is one of the most proven running backs in the league with eight different seasons of more than 1,000 rushing yards, but he is also 32 years old. Indianapolis only has two rookies in Josh Robinson and Tyler Varga behind Gore after it waived Vick Ballard on Tuesday, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. (The Colts waived Dan Herron before the season started.)
Bradshaw would provide the veteran presence the team needs, and his ability to get involved in the passing game would also fit in perfectly with the Colts and superstar quarterback Andrew Luck. The signal-caller also has experience with Bradshaw from the past two seasons, so there would likely be no significant learning curve in place.
This move would make sense from the team’s and players' perspective as the Colts look to bounce back from their Week 1 loss and challenge for a Super Bowl title.
